Volare

1998. Design: Jan Armgardt

For many years metal wire constructions have formed the ultimate challenge for modern designers. Pieces of furniture, that appear to arise effortlessly from the earth, and seem conspicuously fragile, are the result of clever constructions and the application of raw materials. With the Volare, Jan Armgardt creates for Leolux wire furniture with an apparently simple point of departure. However, behind this apparent simplicity hides a cunning design that wins the Volare a well-earned place amongst the Leolux seating concepts. Sitting in the Volare, with its slightly curved flexible seat and the magnificent cushions is a pleasurable experience. A featherlight design in both form and weight - that’s the Leolux Volare - which lives up to its name as Volare literally means flying, gliding.

Technical details
• The armchair and the 2-seat sofa are available with a headrest for extra relaxed lounging.
• The Volare frame is made of stainless steel, standard Epoxy E100.
• In order to prevent the cushions from slipping, they are held in position by a Leolux invention.
• The Dutch magazine VT-Wonen has awarded Volare.
